Robert James Egan
To Roberts beloved wife and family. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the passing of Rob. We spent many hours together many year ago at another time attempting to improve the safety conditions of the thirroul brickworks, and those of his fellow work mates. In the role of chairperson of the works safety committee which he held for a number of years, I recall his commitment to this role even at the most difficult of times during of implementation of unpopular work changes. He maintained a high level of commitment in all of his responsibilities and he was highly regarded by both his fellow workmates and management. I am saddened by his passing but can recall his happiness at the time of the prospect of moving to Tasmania. He obviously achieved his goal and dream which is a great deal more than many others who dreamt the same or similar dream. I know you will cherish your memories and he will remain with you all especially through these difficult days ahead as you go about your lives without him .
